Dariusz Kurowski – Partner to Business Owners and CEOs in Leading and Growing Their Companies

Most business owners build a company only once.
For the past 25 years, I have helped build and lead multiple companies as a CEO, CFO and Sales Director – both in Poland and internationally.

This experience allows me to identify challenges that business owners often don’t see yet, avoid some of the mistakes along the way and make better decisions.

I work with business owners and CEOs on real business issues, not presentations. I don’t stop at diagnosis – I help turn decisions into action and stay involved until they are implemented.

SMART Management clients:

▮Who am I?

I've been on your side of the table.

For 25 years, I worked as a CEO, CFO and Sales Director. I was accountable for results, not slides.

Over the years, I repeatedly stepped into new companies, new countries and new business environments.

I have seen many stages of growth, many successful transformations and many costly mistakes. As a result, I can often spot problems faster – problems that may be new to a business owner but that I have already encountered before.

I don’t come in to teach business owners how to run their business.

I help them lead an increasingly complex company.

Most business owners know their business extremely well. The challenge begins when the company becomes more complex and the way it has always operated is no longer enough. That is usually the point at which I start working with my clients.

Experience

I was responsible for business growth, financial performance and organizational transformations in companies operating in Poland and international markets.

My advisory work is based on operational experience, not concepts.

▮For whom

I work with business owners and CEOs who have successfully grown their businesses but feel that the way they have been running the company is no longer enough.

Very often, I hear the same concern: “The company is growing, but I can no longer be the bottleneck for every important decision."

In practice, it looks like this:
– the company is becoming increasingly complex
– the number of topics is growing faster than the available resources
– more and more responsibility is flowing back to the owner
– decision-making is becoming blurred
– the most important issues remain unresolved for too long
– the owner becomes the company’s biggest bottleneck

Strategy without execution is an intellectual exercise.

Execution without strategy is simply managing day-to-day operations.

The greatest leverage lies in the way business owners, CEOs and their organizations make and execute their most important decisions.

I work with business owners and CEOs who want to change this – not through another workshop, but through a tangible change in how the company operates.

▮Method

Management Operating System™

Most business owners do not need another strategy. They need a way to run an increasingly complex business.

The Management Operating System™ is not another proprietary management theory. It is a practical combination of the globally recognised Best Year Yet methodology and my 25 years of experience as a CEO, CFO and Sales Director.

I do not create more slides and processes for the sake of creating them. I help turn strategy into the way the company operates every day.

I work with business owners, CEOs and leadership teams on three key elements:

Strategic Clarity

I help diagnose the company’s current situation and make the critical choices that define its future direction.

Real Priorities

Together, we translate strategy into concrete initiatives the company will truly focus on – not a list of twenty equally important things.

Operating Rhythm

Together, we build a leadership operating rhythm – monthly decisions, reviews and meetings that enable the company to consistently execute its chosen direction.

As a result, strategy stops being a document.

It becomes the way the company operates.

THREE ENGAGEMENT OPTIONS

▮Direction. Decisions. Execution.

Every company is at a different stage, but the challenges are often similar: too many topics, too little focus and not enough execution.

These three ways of working together address three different stages of a company’s growth.

Strategic Session

One or two days of intensive work – a leadership reset, a strategic workshop or a priority review. With the business owner, CEO or leadership team.

OUTCOME

Clarity on the direction and the first decisions for the company’s next stage of growth.

The Management Operating System™

Building a management operating system around strategy and its consistent execution.

OUTCOME

A leadership team that not only sets the company’s direction but can execute it consistently.

Owner / CEO Advisor

A 1:1 partnership focused on decisions that never make it onto strategy slides, yet fundamentally shape the future of the company.

OUTCOME

Less hesitation before making a move. More confidence after making it.

▮Client Stories: Defining Moments.

Due to the nature of my work, clients expect confidentiality. The stories below are real – without names or company details.

Each one starts in the same place: a business owner or CEO who knows the company is capable of more but has not yet figured out how to unlock that potential.

The Management Operating System™ Through a Participant’s Eyes

“It was the first program where I truly felt that we were all playing on the same team — and that what I do matters not only to me, but to the whole group.”

Promotion in a Matrix Organization

“Suddenly I realized that what had worked so far was no longer enough. I needed someone to help me find my direction again.”

Building Alignment Across Regions

Independent consulting that turns ambitious, cross-regional initiatives into clear, executable plans — with energy, alignment, and lasting impact.

▮Articles.

I write about what really blocks a company’s growth – and how to remove those obstacles effectively.

Why Many Strategies Fail in Practice

Why the problem in most companies is rarely the strategy itself, but much more often the way leadership teams work around strategy.

What if we have an urgent crisis?

I step in with an intervention approach: we quickly establish priorities, communication rules, and decisions. Once the situation is under control, we transition to a calmer work rhythm.
